RW/RR CHALLENGE: RIVALS – 8/24/11

-Laurel and Cara Maria also find out they have to sleep outside for the night. Can’t wait for all these guys to find out too.

-Jenn and Mandi sucked so bad they got DQ’d. Maybe Jenn should try to go an elimination and hone her edge a little. This is a disgrace. Jenn shows how she talks a huge game, but can’t back it up. And probably never will. At least Paula somewhat performs in final challenges. Jenn just plays the social game, but has no physical game.

-I keep waiting for the producer to stop Leroy and Mike, but they make it to the final checkpoint where one team member stands on a rock while the other team member sleeps. One of these days one of these people is going to develop seriously mental problems. This final challenge would break someone down mentally. Especially with the upcoming sleep deprivation.

-Kenny is telling about his hero’s journey today and then falls off the rock. Wes is talking about how he hasn’t slept. Kenny and Wes are arguing and not standing on a rock. This is why they won’t win. There is no teamwork taking place right now. And I blame Wes. All he is doing is laying out his excuses and saying how Kenny is not a good leader. Isn’t this the same Wes that tells everyone how amazing he is? Let me tell you something about Wes…when he fails, it is someone else’s fault. When he wins, he is a brilliant physical specimen. The truth is that he is an amazing individual competitor, but sucks in the big moment.

-Wes is laying out his laundry list of excuses while we get a montage of standing on rocks and sleeping. Mike is looking in sad shape. I can’t imagine how exhausting this is. This is what we should do to break the terrorists down. They’d talk in no time I’m sure. Ride on a speedboat, kayak for a few miles, carry around a large rock, fill up a dirt box, remember a tent scene, eat a bunch of food, and then hike up a mountain. When you’re done, you don’t get to sleep. Terrorism would stop yesterday. Trust me.

-For Day 2, the teams have to hike up a huge mountain. Then they have to find a key on the top of the mountain. This could be an intense. Mike is already talking about quitting the final challenge. I hope he doesn’t. He doesn’t want to face the wrath of TJ. TJ doesn’t like quitters.

-Paula and Ev get a two minute advantage over Laurel and Cara Maria. This should be intense. Kenny and Wes have a lead over Johnny and Tyler followed by Mike and Leroy, but Mike has decided to quit. TJ doesn’t give him a hard time. I’m a little upset since Mike is a quitter, but this final challenge is super intense. I don’t blame Mike for quitting because just Day 1 was good enough for one challenge. Mad respect to these rookies who got to the final. If Adam was still around they would have gone home a little sooner for sure.

-Paula and Ev are getting close to the top of the mountain. It looks like they can be the ones to win this for the ladies. Kenny and Wes are in the lead and getting to the top but Johnny and Tyler are close behind. I know this because Johnny has this annoying habit of shouting how close they are this entire show. If it was me I would have spit on him by now. Or thrown one of those rocks down at him.

-On a semi-related note…how did these headstart times come about? It looked like Kenny and Wes finished more than 2 minutes ahead of Johnny and Tyler on day 1. The time they actually finished should be their head start. That time could have made a difference.

-Wait, they aren’t at the top? It looks like they were at the top. Oh now they’re here. Seems as though this mountain has quite a few peaks. Someone is going to sprain an ankle on those loose rocks.

-Now it is a mad scramble to find the key to unlock the trophy. Looks like this is taking longer than normal. Johnny and Tyler find their key first and charge up the hill. This is their challenge to lose. Kenny and Wes cannot find their key. Johnny and Tyler have won. Congrats to Tyler who puked his guts out the night before and still managed to finish in first.

-Now Paula finally has broken the curse. She has won a challenge. She should give Ev $90,000 and keep $10,000 for herself. She will probably get a bigger boob job now. Or get some really good therapy so she never has to use creepy horror movie baby voice ever again.

-Kenny is yelling at Wes and for good reason. Wes ruined this for Kenny in the end. He talks about teamwork yet I have never seen it from Wes on these shows. I see a lot of backstabbing and plotting, but no actual teamwork. These two are still not friends and I am not shocked. Gotta say I’m still on Team Kenny. So maybe for the next challenge those two can be competing captains much like Boston Rob and Russell on Survivor this past season.

-What better way to end than showing a drunken, naked, stupid montage. Debauchery runs rampant. Great show, great season. Hopefully I’ll be recapping the next challenge for you all next time. It’s been a blast.
